Construction drone mapping for South Carolina sites
Drone mapping converts overlapping aerial images into measurable deliverables: a scaled orthomosaic of the site, a digital elevation model, and volume calculations. A single flight covers a 100-acre site. The output goes directly into site management software, CAD, or earthwork quantity tracking.
What drone mapping produces
An orthomosaic is a scaled aerial map corrected for camera position and terrain distortion. It can be exported as a georeferenced image for CAD import or shared with project teams as a current site view. Typical resolution is 1 to 3 centimeters per pixel on a standard construction survey.
A digital surface model captures the terrain plus structures and stockpiles. A digital terrain model processes out vegetation and structures to return bare earth elevation. Volume calculations are derived by comparing the current surface against a reference elevation, either pre-construction or a design surface.

A combined visit covers the compliance documentation and the mapping deliverable without a second mobilization.
On active sites that need both regular BMP inspection coverage and earthwork tracking, scheduling both on the same weekly or bi-weekly visit date reduces coordination overhead and keeps the site records on matching dates.
